Ainsley Ballet ... 2
05.29.16 | East Bank, Portland, Oregon
I can't say enough how awesome Ainsley is, and it was great to get a second chance to photograph her again, this time in Portland. (you can see the first shoot here). Ainsley, Amy and I ventured down to the East Bank Esplanade early in the morning and set-up on the floating dock to use Portland's skyline as a backdrop. The first photoshoot we did together my primary aim was to capture her dance, arabesque and impossible jumps silhouetted against the setting sun. This time my aim was to capture her, a young ballerina, juxtaposed against the rough backdrop of city in motion. The three areas we shot were the floating dock, Hawthorne bridge and a section of track in between some businesses near OMSI (we were right next to the crossing guard, just off the sidewalk, on slow tracks with a lookout so don't worry!) Aside from being invaded by a fleet of kayaks we had the city to ourselves it seemed.
I have many more ideas I'd love to work with Ainsley on, from elaborate costumes or more interesting locations, maybe begging a local theater to let me use their stage - for the sake of art. Enjoy the photos and follow Ainsley on Instagram: @ainslou_
