Amy - Tulip Fields
Amy Hughes, 04/17/16 - Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm - Woodburn, Oregon
I had the pleasure of photographing Amy at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fields last week, an all around awesome shoot in my opinion. This is the last photo session I'll be doing at the fields this year - most of the flowers are on their way out anyways. Amy has a very unique "look" about her, a unique style that she pulls off quite well.
For this photoshoot I used a special lens, a Zeiss ZF.2 135mm f/2 APO .. it's a fast prime portrait lens, considered to be thee best 35mm format lens ever created. And with good reason! The amount of detail that it renders, the complete lack of chromatic aberrations, the micro contrast, the flare control .. the bokeh, oh the bokeh, I have a photographer orgasm every time I think of this lens. But it's manual focus, and 135 at f/2 is an extremely shallow depth of field - and quite frankly, it's a heavy bit of metal and glass to hold trying to focus after a while!
Well anyways, enjoy some photos of Amy, I'm going to go look at my collection of lenses and consider which one is going to be sacrificed to finally purchase the Zeiss. :D
