Cannon Beach - Surfing in the Fog
Apr. 19th 2016 - Cannon Beach, Oregon
Oregon's coast isn't known as a tropical paradise, hell you're lucky to be there on a day the sun is out let alone be considered warm. Most often when I go it's windy, rainy, and fairly cold.. this weekend was sunshine and warm weather (I even got sunburned!) On our last day there I waded out into the water with my camera at high tide, I went about waist deep in the water, chest deep at times with the waves, to get a different perspective of the beach. Risky, but well worth the shots I got. While out there, dodging waves with my camera held over my head, I photographed a trio of surfers. Eventually the fog thickened to the point you couldn't see but a few feet in front of you; I captured some photos of people as they materialized out of the mist, a unique experience.
